New Website Design!

Posted by Carpets N More under About Us

lv-homepageIt’s finally here! The Carpets N More Las Vegas site has a new look and feel. It’s a similar look and feel to the Carpets N More Colorado site, but there are a few differences. Please take a moment to check it out and let us know what you think. Before you raise your hand and ask yourself why you would want to look at a flooring store’s website….hold that thought and read on.

Our sites are not designed to give you directions and show off our logo, we have a website that is interactive and helpful! Even if you don’t need flooring at the moment, there are still things you can do that are fun on our site.

For example, we offer:

  • Product Catalogs filled with the products we carry
  • Interactive quizzes such as The How I Live and What I Like Quizzes
  • A virtual room designer where you can place different products in different room scenes
  • A section with FAQ’s and answers
  • Design galleries full of room scenes to inspire you
  • Designer’s Corner with helpful tips and articles

Check out the Las Vegas redesigned site or the Colorado website and plan to spend some time there. We think you’ll have a great time.

Testimonial

Posted by Carpets N More under Testimonials, Uncategorized

Please take a moment to read this testimonial from one of our Las Vegas clients!

I needed a patch job done on my new kitchen floor where the movers tore a piece moving in my refrigerator. Carpets N More sent out a gentleman by the name of Juan to do the job.

He was there when he said he would be, very personable & professional. As I watched him work, I was amazed at the detailed work and patience he has. In a matter of a few minutes he was done and even though I knew where he had replaced the tile I could not tell it was a replacement piece, it’s perfect! I defy someone to come in and point it out to me.

I’m completely satisfied with the work done and Juan who also happens to be a very nice man. He truly is a magic maker for flooring.

Thanks so much to Carpets N More and in particular to Juan. You all have a wonderful craftsman in your employ, don’t let him go. Because of him and his work I will recommend your company and of course Juan to my family and friends and keep the # handy for me for future use.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey W. Baker

Reader Question: Shopping for New Carpet

Posted by Carpets N More under Reader Questions

whycarpet1Reader Question: Hello, I’m currently shopping for new carpet. Don’t want any too expensive but not too cheap. Just had a few ?’s…. Is nylon a good make, in terms of not going flat too fast, staying a little plush, etc? Also, would laminated cherry hard wood flooring be more maintenance or not, as oppose to carpet? Hope I didn’t bombard you with all the ?’s : )) Your input is greatly appreciated.

Answer: I guarantee we can find the perfect flooring for your home. Nylon carpet is of slightly higher quality than polyester. However, polyester has made huge waves recently with something that is called PET. It is made out of recycled plastic if you are at all concerned with staying “green”. There are certain types of strands that are going to hold their form better than others. Mohawk makes a carpet that incorporates a very tight twist in order to eliminate matting and wearing too quickly. As far as hard surface goes, there is a difference between laminate and hard wood and I’m not really sure which you are asking about. Laminate probably requires the least amount of maintenance between all three types of flooring. Carpet needs to be vacuumed on a regular basis and hardwood needs to be maintained by it’s surroundings. By that, I mean you need to maintain a certain level of humidity in order to keep the natural wood from drying out and warping. If you would like, feel free to call me at the store @ 702-433-0295 and we can discuss this with a little more detail. My name is Adam and I hope to hear from you soon.

Employee Profile: Adam Chesin

Posted by Carpets N More under Employee profile

adam-headshotIn an effort to help you get to know our team a little better, here’s the profile of Adam Chesin!

What is your name and position with your company?
My name is Adam Chesin.  I am the Retail Sales Manager for Carpets N More in Las Vegas.  I do whatever I can to provide the highest quality flooring service to the residents of Southern Nevada.
How long have you been with the company?

I have been with the company for just over three years, and many more to come.

What is your favorite thing about your company?
I really enjoy the fact that the majority of people that work here have been working here for a long time.  It makes for a whole new level of trust and camaraderie between employees.

What do you think makes your company unique?
Carpets N More is completely unique in the sense that we do it all; commercial work, builder accounts, property management, and retail.  On top of that, we have a one of a kind retail showroom with a layout that I have never seen anywhere else.

Do you have a memorable customer experience that you can share?
I went out to a customer’s home for a customer service issue.  He was absolutely livid about something that was pretty minor and easily fixable.  After being yelled at for a solid 10 minutes, I apologized and explained that we would fix it immediately and what it would take to execute.  The gentleman, who was probably in his sixties, was pleased with my remedy and offered me a glass of iced tea.  I graciously accepted and went on to shoot pool at his house for 3 hours to follow.  He now comes into my store on occasion simply to visit.

Why should a customer choose your company over a box store or another retail store?
We are real with our customers.  We don’t tell them that we are going to install their whole house for $99, then double to triple the price on everything else.  Our prices are not only fair, they are nearly unbeatable.  Bring in a quote from a box store and we can almost guarantee to beat it.

What is the best part about your position?
I like meeting a very large variety of people that come into the store every day.  It runs the gambit from an elderly lady who grew up in my small hometown in Minnesota to the Director of Marketing for the MGM to professional ball players and famous actors.

Why do you think customers should purchase from our company rather than another store?
We will do anything to make sure that things go as smooth as possible with your entire experience here.  If there are any unforeseen hiccups along the way, we will do anything in our power to make sure that you are completely happy in the end regardless.

What’s your favorite floor in your home and why?
My absolute favorite floor in my house is a 6×9 area in my living room.  You guessed it; I have to coolest looking area rug you will ever see.  Besides that, I love the travertine that I have in my kitchen and dining room.

If you could have any product that your company sells in your home what would it be?
There is a natural stone that we sell called Pakistan green onyx.  I can’t even describe how sweet it looks nor can I really describe what it looks like.  Check it out on Google and prepare to be amazed.

Another Testimonial from a Satisfied Customer!

Posted by Carpets N More under Testimonials

Please take a moment to read this testimonial from another satisfied Carpets N More (Las Vegas) customer!

Dear Angel,

When I called, Libby said you are the one to talk to. I bought carpet from your store last week and had it installed and wanted to share some comments.

Tony Maglothin at the Tropicana/Pecos store helped me. I was on a very tight budget plus my cousin was visiting, so I knew this project would be easier to accomplish while I had her help – one more reason I wanted carpet that was in stock. We went right to the rolls in the back of the store. Tony did not seem to mind that I was not looking to carpet a new 5,000 sq. ft. home with top of the line carpet; I wanted new carpet and needed to have it installed asap and – while very low key – he helped me kindly. His demeanor was very pleasant. I didn’t have to deal with a salesman with a big ego or one who tried to make me feel that I wasn’t worth his time. He helped me to find what I wanted. After dealing with several other stores, this was incredibly refreshing!

Two days later, Ramone and Raul showed up right around 8AM (in an 8 – 12 window!) They got busy disconnecting the huge TV set and helped us dismantle my large bed. My cousin and I managed to get everything else handled before hand. Ramone even offered to haul away my vertical blinds which my cousin and I had taken down to discard. He was funny, efficient, clean, and a real pleasure to have in my home. I could not believe that when they were done, he had managed to reconnect the cable tv and home theater wires perfectly! I was so afraid I’d never get it back together but he eliminated the problem completely! That – in particular – exceeded my expectations.

In just a few hours, the men were done. They took obvious pride in their work. Every detail of the install was apparent and the carpet looks amazing. I remember when Carpeteria installed the original carpet 14 years ago and it was nothing at all like this experience. Your team was respectful and incredibly professional.

I will highly recommend Carpets N More to everyone. The entire experience made me so happy – I got a wonderful Mohawk carpet for less than I dreamed possible and it was installed quickly, cleanly, and beautifully. Along with new drapes and a new bed ensemble, I was able to make over my bedroom, stay within my budget, and finish my project on time while my cousin was here to help.

I write a column in the Las Vegas Business Press and sometimes I can “get away with” a plug for an area business. I will definitely try to share this experience with my LVBP readers. Thank you. It is obvious you run a great operation in an industry that has a wide variety of standards. You are at the very top. I hope you will share my satisfaction with your employees. They deserve an extra pat on the back.

Warmest regards,

Robin Jay

How to Remove Easter Egg Dye from Carpet

Posted by Carpets N More under Care and Maintenance, Carpet

spaceball2010-03-25_165734It’s almost Easter! If you love to dye Easter eggs, but hate the worry of wondering what to do if you spill the dye on the carpet, stop worrying! Below are simple and easy guidelines to follow if you have a spill with Easter egg dye. You always want to treat spills as soon as possible and follow the instructions closely.

Detergent Solution – Mix one fourth (1/4) teaspoon of a liquid dishwashing detergent per one (1) cup of lukewarm water. NEVER USE A STRONGER CONCENTRATION! Thorough rinsing is necessary to remove detergent residues that may cause rapid soiling. It may be necessary to rinse with warm water several times to completely remove residues.  Care should be used in selecting a detergent. Never use a laundry detergent of any type, because laundry detergents may contain optical brighteners (flourescent dyes) that dye the fiber. Do not select an automatic dishwashing detergent because many contain bleaching agents that destroy dyes and some fibers.

Warm Water – Lukewarm tap water should be used in most cases to rinse the cleaning solutions from the fiber. Failure to completely rinse the solutions from the fiber may cause accelerated soiling.

Ammonia Solution – Mix one (1) tablespoon of household ammonia per cup of water. Please note: Be aware that ammonia, if used improperly, can cause a color change. Be sure to test a hidden area.

Not sure? Call a Professional – Professional cleaners have the ability and the equipment to use more aggressive cleaning solutions to remove stubborn spills. Always consider consulting a professional cleaner regarding any spot removal question. Carpet and Rug Institute – 1-800-882-8846.
